Letters

Bethann,

You are growing and becoming a young lady, the time passes so swiftly. Daddies little girl, mamas little Lady, Our Rae of sunshine. You are almost always so easy going, you enjoy life and are much like your mother in the aspect that paying attention and not going off into your own world is a constant battle. We are working very hard on paying attention and fallowing through with our tasks. You however are very spirited, and a tom boy through and through but you do have a girly streak in you as well. You enjoy the great outdoors, climbing trees, old farm equipment, working with your daddy, any thing that has to do with Guns, bow n' arrows, Cowboys and Indians, sports, anything that has to do with the color pink, princesses, and babies. Those things are right at the top of your "extremely amazing things" list. For your birthday you got a gift card and you bought two dart guns and two princesses for your new doll house my kind of girl!!

You are quick to follow in your sisters steps it took her until she was almost four before she could open the front door on her own, you were about a month behind her, She just learned to ride her bike without training wheels so we put the training wheels on your new bike you got for your 5th birthday and two days later you were riding Ellies bike around without any training wheels. We thus removed them from your bike and put them on Gentry's. however Ellie loves school and learning and you not so much you are interested but you do not crave school and learning like Ellie. You enjoy animals, But you'd much rather be shooting arrows at a target then sitting and petting the dog. or Chasing the turkeys around the yard pretending that is thanksgiving and its time for a Turkey dinner (you do not harm them but pretending to hunt them down is always a blast). Our last puppy got ran over and you cried right along with Ellie and I , We really loved that little guy.

You've always got a great smile and a hug and kiss to share, you often take it upon your self to take Abby out of her crib and hold her tell she stops crying (I think she expects to be held to much with two very doting sisters around). Your often asking me when I'm gonna have another baby so you can help take care of him/her. We bought a larger car the other day and you were so excited and informed me very seriously that there is two extra seats and that mommy can now have twins. Mommy wasn't quite as excited as you were about that thought. Your best bud and confidant is Gentry, you and him are stuck like glue you are there to pick him back up when he falls, or hurts himself, and he for you. Ellie is your best friend and heroin, she is a great big sister and you are a wonderful little sister I love listening to the sweet little sister, big sister chats you often have. Kesten and you are partners in crime if there's something to get into you and him are right there to take care of it. You often try to baby him and he does not like that so much but he puts up with it!! You love cooking and spending time with momma in the kitchen I think you'll be our little chef someday!!! your always asking me "can we make some cookies", "can I help poor that in", "momma the waters boiling", Can I help you wash the dishes". I have to often remind myself that I must let you help even if its easier for me to just do it myself. You love to tag along with daddy, cutting wood, or work on the house, hand him tools, or go out for daddy daughter dates to Sandy's. Daddy is your hero and you've always been his baby girl. from the moment you were born Daddy was wrapped around your little finger. you are a blessing to us all.

You are slow to anger and quick to forgive. but boy you better watch out when you are angered. Daddy for some reason really knows how to get your goat. and that above all else bothers you most. you are working hard on excepting the teasing that daddy gives you and the rest of the kids, as it is all in fun!! you love to wrestle and love to play dress up. The love you have for Christ is Growing each day and it is so wonderful to see. you often state Momma God made this or that isn't God so wonderful, your learning to pray on your own to God oft times you freeze and forget what you were about to say, but God knows your heart and what you mean. Even if the words your looking for don't come to your lips. Bethy boo you are our joy and our blessing. we love you so much and hope you continue to enjoy life and Grow in Christ.

Love,
~Your Momma~

Letters

A dear friend of mine writes letters to her girls every so often to update them on how they are growing what kinds of sweet things they say and do! So she has inspired me to begin my own account (Thanks Gretchen) starting with........................

Ellie, Dear sweet Ellie.

You have grown so much. life with you is a joy and a blessing you have a giving heart your always there to help, to instruct (even when its out of your domain) :), you Love being the big sister you adore your Baby sister Abby and she you!! you often tell me that Gentry and Kesten are you best buddies!! and Beth she's your best friend!! Daddy is your hero and you are always thinking of sweet things to do for him!! you always are wanting to serve others!! your always there when someone gets hurt, or needs help.

Your starting to grow up. you notice things that the others don't. such as the change in weather quote "mama it's fall it's fall, its not like it used to be it smells like bacon outside and its cold just like when its fall, because its fall its fall" you notice when mommy has baked something or cleaned the a certain spot in the house that has been left unattended for to long. or when you point out the fact that your dresses are getting just a bit to short! you adore animals You've been working so hard on training your goat for the fair this year, you often remind me when its time to take her out of the pen and walk her. you were the first to notice that shadow had her puppies, and then again when Suzy had hers, and then when they started opening their eyes, and every chance you get your right in the rabbit barn holding this baby or that!!

learning is so fun for you!! every book you see and or picture you notice you want to know about!! you recently just informed me "mama you've got to teach me more I really really want to be able to right letters to my friend and read to myself" you've been soaking in all the information I've been giving you on how to show a goat. when to plant a garden, how much salt to put in pickles, how long to snap beans, how much money you've earned from this special job or that and how much you've saved.

you love the lord when it was your birthday you were a bit disappointed that not many people were going to show up! but then later you thought about it and told me how much more important Easter was and that you needed to just be thankful. at prayer time you always are first to volunteer to pray!! bible time is a big one for you!! you never want to miss it even if we get home super late and you slept half the way home your ready to wake up and read the bible story for that night! and when mama or daddy says not tonight your disappointed!!

Dear sweet Ellie your growing into quit a young lady, your mama and Daddy are very proud of you and are certainly blessed to have you.

Love,
Your mama

Easter what does it mean to you?

So what does Easter mean to you? Is it hunting of Easter eggs? Pretending the Easter bunny is real? getting candy for no real reason other then everyone else does it?

Well every Holiday is celebrated for a reason. 4th of July our independence, saint Patrick's day, in memory of Saint Patrick one of the greatest missionaries to Ireland and national prayer day for missionaries across the world. Our birthdays in memory of our birth. New Years Eve the coming of the new Year. Christmas the birth of our Savior Jesus Christ!

So what does Easter really mean? Today is Good Friday the day Jesus died on the cross for our sins! He is the Ultimate Sacrifice!! He came down to earth to die for our sins! how many of you really thought he died Easter day? I know I did! Really Easter day is when he Rose from the dead!! So when you sit down with your kids on Easter for the special Easter meal. what will you say to them? Will you tell them the reason for this celebration or will you continue to ignore Christ. And believe in false Idols? Will you tell them that today is the day that the Lord has made let us rejoice and be glade in it? Christ died on the cross for our sins and on the third day he rose from the dead. Maybe you should pick up your bible and read the Gospels to them. There are four of them Mathew, Mark, Luke, and John.

So why do you celebrate Easter? Just something to think about!!

Who ever said a house wife wasn't a real job?

Apparently never cleaned up a melted bag of Rice Crispys from under the Burner, that had been left on simmer! Change three poopy diapers from two kids, Cleaned up brown sugar that had been dumped on top of thier oldest sons head, by their youngest son! Changed the bedding on two pee'd toddler beds, gave three bathes, and feed five kids. All before 7:30 am.

I love my Job!! Seriously I do I feel sorry for the mothers out there that have to leave their children with a babysitter. I can't imagine missing all the sweet smiles and kisses I receive in a day. or watching your two year old run as fast as his short little legs will take him across the yard just to show the other kids how fast he can run. Or to kiss a booboo even if it's not real! or too lay them down for a nap and come back five min. later to check on them and stand there for awhile to just watch them sleep!!! I am so blessed to be a Home Maker!!! I love the fact that I'm there to teach my kids and not someone else, that I yes, I get to choose what they learn, what they eat, how they interact with each other. To see the spark in their eyes when they learn something new or the giggles that come out sporadically through out the day! I am so thankful for a supportive family and Church.

Sure there are times when I wish I could just have some me time and I don't get it! Times that I want to just go shopping by my self, or I want to go out with friends but can't. Go on a long run but don't have anyone to stay with the kids. But then someone comes up to me and says mommy can I help you? Mommy I Love you. Mama can I sit with you? Mama if I kiss you will you love me forever?? and all of those I wants don't seem so important anymore!!! God Has given me a wonderful life! beautiful kids, a Loving and faithful Husband I am Blessed!!

Meager Beginnings

This is a small beginning to a blog for our family. I am doing this so I can look back and remember the things, that in ten years will be very muddled in my mind. So here goes!!

Spring on our little farm is blooming from baby kittens, to green grass, painted foals, little lambs and good health. The children are thriving on the spring sunshine and the hope for Gods glory shining through on our world. Green Grass, spring flowers, leaf trees, Cherry Blossoms, the buzz of Uncle Mikes Honey Bees, and the fear of wasps, the musical sounds of a orange breasted Robbin, the Black and white of the magpie (even though there sound is not so musical) the pitter patter of the keel deer, the dips and swirls of the barn swallow. Life is thriving on the farm.

last Sunday set heavy on all our hearts as Healthcare reformed passed (Obamacare). However we are hopeful, for all things happen through Christ and God is ruler over all. Healthcare should never be under the Governments power. and others should not have their tax dollars raised to pay for the Healthcare of other people. Not only that but others have to help fund the murder of Babies. Abortion is murder no matter how you look at it.
The girls are enjoying school with Gram three days a week and with Mama, I am learning allot about teaching my children and whats most important I had a wonderful talk with a dear lady friend in our church on Sunday. She has given me allot of hope for the future and much inspiration. Thank you Leslie. It is hard to teach when you are not a teacher setting schedules and sticking to them being consistent. but most important making sure everything is grounded to Gods word! and our obedience to Christ.
The boys are full of life! Gentry has finally (as of yesterday) gone poop in the potty with out sitting on it for hours Yay Yay Yay. he must have some of the strongest stomach Butt muscles around I never new one could hold it for literally hours!!! He is such a sweet boy and he loves to be mamas little helper!! Kesten is Learning that the middle of the kitchen table is not a safe place to play. He loves food and he loves making messes so you can imagine what his thoughts are butter, salt, pepper, woohoo!!! Needless to say my work is cut out for me with this one, he is as stubborn as can be! So right now he has to figure out which he'd rather do or not have more, Make a mess with the condiments or Discipline for disobedience.
Abigail is growing so fast. She adores her Sitsers and brothers, she loves her mamma and daddy is the best! KR had her laughing and laughing for over a hour last night! He just loves the sound of her laugh. She is so sweet such a snuggle bug and so enjoys being the center of our world. It seem like yesterday that I was a month over due and wondering if she was ever going to come now she's 4 1/4 months old!!
The kids are learning to ride and are loving it Kesten (1 1/2) loves the pony and is doing great at keeping his balance, (Gentry almost 3) is braver then expected! He Loves riding and is doing great. Bethann (4yrs.) has learned that running up behind the pony is not a good idea. He gave her a warning kick, it didn't even leave a mark but boy did she howl I think it scared her more then hurt but we still came in and iced it for her! Sometimes sympathy is the best cure for a booboo and a fluttery heart. She still loves the pony and is not afraid of him even after that. She is out Brave little Bethy boo. Ellie Loves all the animals she is just like her mama she has a very tender heart and loves spending time with them all she is so good with them and they love her in return. If I would stay out with them they'd ride him all day long and into the night!
KR spent the whole week on our house. Wiring, insulating, sheet rocking, taping, mudding, Teaching me how to tape and mud. Mostly I helped by cleaning and organizing it was a good thing it really needed it. We are so excited to finally be seeing the light at the end of the tunnel!!! What will I do with all of that room?
